A collaborative photograph by Phyllis and Larey McDaniel. The photographers were on opposite sides of a hedge of wild roses in Kirkland, Washington's Heritage Park. Phyllis photographed the rose and Larey contributed the muted background. The images were then combined in Photoshop.
About Larey and Phyllis McDaniel
Phyllis & Larey McDaniel Phyllis & Larey McDaniel Larey was born in Wallowa, Oregon and got his first clarinet and camera at about the same time in Bremerton, Washington. He has been enthralled with both art forms ever since and has created a professional life that neatly intertwines the two, playing bass clarinet with the Seattle Symphony until retiring in 2014 and showing his photography at Parklane Gallery in Kirkland since 2001. Phyllis was born in Fargo, North Dakota, studied music at Augsburg College in Minneapolis and graduated from the University of Washington.
